i made rainbow cupcakes!!

so we have a staff potluck tomorrow and naturally i signed up to bring dessert. duh. hey fatty. [;

my new coworkers are a pretty creative bunch so i really wanted to do something creative, but not with too much detail and work and shopping, yadda yadda. so i decided to try these lovelies. it wasn't hard. AT ALL. it is a little time consuming.. but what isn't?

i looked at this page for details, but i pretty much had the concept without it. i was concerned more with how others went about layering the batter.

again, i apologize for the pictures but i did my best. that's what counts, right?

tomorrow is the first day of my training. i'm super stoked.
i will be working for the city of hillsboro as an after school program instructor.
it is my career goal to be an art teacher, so i feel lucky to have an opportunity to at least take step in that direction.
hopefully this will be as rewarding as i hope.

i'm in between jobs right now (obviously) and absolutely loving the down time. adam went to seattle today to pick up a car for me. i'm now the payer-offer of an '01 civic coupe. great gas mileage, so nothing to complain about. [:


today i thought about how wonderful my man is for everything he does for me
and how he makes me feel when i'm with him
and how i hope we look like this at the age of ancient. [;

la(zy)bor day.

i'm sitting on the couch watching cake shows and surfin' the interweb.

i'm hoping to get a camera soon so i can start being more regular with this bloggin' thing. tutorials, crafts, yummy foods, yadda yadda.. woo hoo. i'm also starting an etsy page. i'm pretty excited.

first, though, the man and i gotta move into our condo. it's been a gazillion days, and we were supposed to close on the place august 30th. we still have a couple more weeks. i want to decorate so bad. and i need a legit studio. right now i'm taking over one of my future father in law's drafting tables. at least i have a spot to go, though.
