awesome sweater and a studio. oh and spicy santa.

ok so.
i cleaned my studio.
got it as organized as a could.
and i'm posting pictures of it because i am in love with my new clean space.

and i'm not a "what i wore" kind of a person,
but this little treasure was just too much to keep all to myself.
i had to share.
i love goodwill.

so these photos are mostly little details..
because that what makes me love being in my studio.
i am surrounded by thing i love to look at.

this is my main art-makin' station.
the drafting table is from my future father in law.
he purchased it from some surplus sale, i'm sure.
and i am broke as a joke so i have milk crate shelving.
but i kind of love them.

a lot of my collage material was generously left to me by a dear friend, mary rothlisberger.
she's fantastic.

i love these little old men.
they used to be in the entrance of my studio at school.
and the postcard is from my from chris gillett's bfa show.
the sticky note is informing me that sanitation is his number one priority.

some stuff i have magnetized to my paper organizer thingy.
including louise krampien's biz card.

i had a productive day today.
the mom in law and i went to an estate sale that turned out to be full of goodies.
i got sketch paper,
watercolor paper,
envelopes,
a milk crate,
tape,
a box of white cardstock,
an adorable old giant spoon (which i will be using as a decoration in the kitchen),
a vacuum! (we haven't vacuumed the condo once! today was the first time!!),
some cute wood blocks for necklace makin',
cork,
and a bunch of other things.

i hope everyone had a productive and wonderful weekend!

prompt four. lil mini me.

prompt four:
a photo of you as a child and 7 facts about your childhood.

psh, one photo, i gots three.

berry-pickin' adventurer.
(please note my bright pink salt water sandals. favorites.)

cabbage patch lovin'.
i remember when i found a "tattoo" on my dolls butt.

apparently i was pissed and wanted my training wheels back.
i kind of feel like that today. metaphorically, of course.

on to seven whole facts.

uno: i distinctly remember the first time i heard red hot chili peppers' under the bridge.
i was in my room in the condo we lived in, "cleaning", and i remember thinking, i really like this song.
i'm glad my parents liked good music.
i am still thankful for that.

dos: i remember wearing my 49ers t-shirt and some 80's paisley patterned shorts at my parent's wedding.

tres: i was the only kid around until keegan was born.

cuatro: it was during a wiffle ball tournament at my parent's friend's house that my dad told me i had to put a shirt on because i was girl. i told him that wasn't fair because all the boys had their shirts off.

cinco: my little brother tore up a paper butterfly i made at school and it made me cry. he didn't care and mom and dad made him apologize. i think it was then i decided he really was a little shit. but i still love him more than anything.

seis: i used to have slumber parties with grandma and grandpa and i would kick them really hard when i was sleeping. sorry guys.

siete: this really is a fact and less of a memory, i has a truly blessed childhood.

update: starting my shop.

holy smokes. i'm going for it.
i'm just going to be selling prints for a while, but i plan on adding stuff in the future.

i found a local print shop for bigger prints, and i plan on just printing my own smaller prints for awhile.
i also found a paper store, ALL PAPER, aka: heaven.
and i'm hoping they will have some great paper options and packaging options as well.

favorite season.

i think it's a tie.
because i LOVE summer.
but i equally love fall.
i think i love fall more because it's like summer with the option of more clothing.

and there's always pumpkin seeds and pumpkin lattes.

anyway.
i made the first step of actually starting to plan my wedding today.
i asked my mom and adam's mom for guest lists and addresses for the save the dates.

oh my. it begins.

i kind of just started this blog with no rhyme or reason.
i know what i want it to become, but i need to start with baby steps.

so i'm going to do a 30-day "about me", essentially.
i found the prompts over at life in technicolor.

i have a feeling that there will be times when i post more than one prompt at a time.
and times when i change them all together.
